The difference between toroidal transformer and square transformer

Both the toroidal transformer and the square transformer belong to the class of electronic transformers. The toroidal transformer is ring-shaped in appearance. Its iron core is made of silicon steel sheet, and the core of the square transformer is made of E-type silicon steel. The sheet and the type I silicon steel sheet are stacked on top of each other. What are the differences between the two, except for the difference in structure?

Under the same power, the working efficiency of the 50W toroidal transformer is 86%-90%, while the working efficiency of the 50W square transformer is 80-84%.

2. Temperature rise

Under the same power, the 50W toroidal transformer has a very low temperature rise, while the 50W square transformer has a temperature rise.

The cost of a toroidal transformer above 200W is low, and the cost of a square transformer above 200W is relatively high.

The leakage current of the toroidal transformer is very small, the leakage of the square transformer is obvious, and there is low frequency interference.

Although the toroidal transformer and the square transformer have no obvious material for life decay, the life of the toroidal transformer is still longer.
