The THAT5171 digital preamplifier controller IC is suited for low-noise analog differential current-feedback audio preamplifiers. When used in conjunction with an appropriate analog gain block, the device can set gain in 1-dB steps, while preserving low noise and distortion.
The IC operates from ±5 to ±17-V supplies and supports input signal levels as high as 22 dBu at 5.6-dB gain and ±17-V supplies, with gain error guaranteed at ±0.5 dB max at all gain settings. Housed in a 7 x 7-mm QFN32 package, the part is controlled via an addressable SPI port. ($6.70 ea/1,000 — available now.)
THAT Corporation’s mission is to provide best-in-class technology solutions to design engineers in the form of analog integrated circuits or as licensed TV-audio intellectual property.
