The nRF5340 SoC is designed to extend the operating temperature to 105oC, while supporting multiple protocols and advanced security features, making it ideal for professional lighting and industrial applications. In addition, this SoC's high-performance application processor also comes with 512 KB of RAM to meet the needs of the next generation of cutting-edge wearable devices. The device has an extended QSPI peripheral interface that can be connected to external memory at 96 MHz. It also integrates a 32 MHz high-speed SPI peripheral that can be used as a display and complex sensor interface.

nRF5340 integrates ArmTrustZone's Arm CryptoCell-312 technology and secure key storage to provide the highest level of security. The device uses Arm CryptoCell-312 to hardware accelerate the most common Internet encryption standard, while Arm TrustZone provides system-wide hardware isolation for trusted software by creating secure and non-secure code execution zones on a single core. nRF5340's comprehensive security features enable advanced roots of trust and secure firmware updates while protecting the SoC from malicious attacks.
