Littelfuse Product Honored With Intelligent Industry Outstanding Solution Award

Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, announced today that its SDP0240T023G6 SIDACtor® protection thyristor solution has been honored with the “Intelligent Industry Outstanding Solution Award” in the 2013-2014 China Best IC and Electronic Products Solution Award program. The award was given to the Littelfuse product based on five criteria: solution integrity, cost performance, usability, application scope, and innovation. The SDP0240T023G6 SIDACtor protection thyristor stood out from other solutions by virtue of its high compatibility, balanced overvoltage protection, low distortion, low insertion loss, low profile, fast response, and other advantages.
Helen Xu, the chief editor at China ECNet, the organizer of the awards program, said, “The products that won these awards have earned the approval and acceptance of both engineers and industry experts because they can meet the urgent need of R&D engineers from small- and medium-sized enterprises in our country.”

The SDP0240T023G6 SIDACtor protection thyristor is an enhanced solid-state device that can provide 30A surge capacity (based on IEC 61000-4-5 1.2/50-8/20µs waveform) in a compact, surface-mount SOT23-6 package; most thyristor devices of similar size have significantly lower surge absorption capacity. This semiconductor crowbar device offers an invaluable solution for several global leading telecom companies who experience high levels of field returns as the result of damage from lightning and AC power faults. Because of its unique design, a patent application has been filed on this device.
