Hall-effect switches work in harsh places

Update Time: 2019-12-19 00:00:01

Designed to work in the most rugged and harsh environments, the IH series Hall-effect switches are low-maintenance contactless sealed pushbuttons that come in two versions: linear proportional output and momentary switch. Life expectancy for both versions is estimated at above 5 million cycles

One of the key features of the IH linear version is that it can be customized. The switch can be tuned to three different operating forces: soft, standard, and hard. It also features outputs ranging from 0.5 to 4.5 V and a total travel of 4 mm. Linear output can also be customized. While the standard version of the switch has an output of 0.5 V for 0 mm travel, this value can be changed upon customer request from 0 to 2 V, to adapt to situations where the linear switch may be connected to another electrical circuit.

The momentary switches are rated for 28 Vdc at a maximum of 50 mA. Supply voltage ranges from 3.5 to 24 Vdc. In the off position, the IHS switch consumes 2.5 to 5 mA. Both switch versions are sealed to IP67, rated to operate in temperatures ranging from –40° to 85°C, and offer a compact size case of 12 mm and a low behind-panel depth.
