Common faults and elimination of isolated converters

Published time: 2019-10-09

The isolated converter is a mechanical electronic converter that supports up to 1500V of AC voltage. The isolating converter can isolate the DC current signal or the DC voltage signal coming from the field into a DC current signal or a DC voltage signal required by the user, and the power source, the input and the output are isolated from each other.

Common faults and elimination of isolated converters

1, data communication failed

Check that the interface is connected correctly, check the supply voltage and polarity are correct, check the interface type of the device and the correct conversion mode of the interface converter.

2, data loss or error

Check whether the data rate and format of the data communication device are consistent.

Isolation converter installation and application effects

1. Installation

The isolated converter is installed before the field signal enters the DAS system. Therefore, the analog signal and the analog isolated converter input and output cables are all soft-shielded cables to eliminate external electromagnetic interference. The isolator's working power supply is 24V DC, and the two-way regulated power supply is used as a backup. The regulated power supply inlet voltage uses two AC power supplies from different power supply sections.

2. Application effect

In the overhaul of Unit 3, the isolation converter system was modified and operated in random group. The isolated converter system was operating normally. The analog signal acquisition module and the switch signal acquisition module have not been connected to the high voltage due to the module. This leads to damage, which proves that the opto-isolated converter works well in power plant data acquisition systems.

Finally, let's take a look at the performance parameters of the isolated converter.

1. Interface characteristics: The interface is compatible with EIA/TIA RS-232C and RS-485/RS-422 standards.

2, electrical interface: RS-232C interface DB9 hole connector

3. Transmission medium: twisted pair or shielded line

4, working mode: asynchronous half-duplex or asynchronous full-duplex

5, signal indication: three signal indicators TXD / RXD / PWR

6, isolation: isolation voltage 3500VRMS 500VDC connection

7, transmission rate: 115.2K BPS to 1.2KM

38.4KBPS to 2.4KM

600BPS to 5KM

8, transmission distance: 0-5 km.
