Update Time: 2019-12-20 00:00:00
ALE, operating under the brand Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure” published on September 1, 2015 by Tim Zimmerman, Bill Menezes and Andrew Lerner. This marks the fourth consecutive year Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking solutions have been recognized as a “Visionary” in this report.
“After becoming an independent business in October 2014, ALE has continued to build on its success in delivering innovative enterprise networking solutions,” commented Stephane Robineau, head of networking business at ALE. “We believe our positioning in this report validates our efforts to deliver on our Application Fluent Network vision focused on end to end Quality of Experience. Our wired and wireless solutions give customers a single platform to securely manage the increasing demand for bandwidth and sustained growth of connected devices and applications used. We thrive to simplify life for the IT departments managing the network access layer.”
According to the report, “A vendor in the Visionaries quadrant demonstrates an ability to increase features in its offering to provide a unique and differentiated approach to the market. Visionaries will have innovated in one or more of the key areas of access layer technologies within the enterprise (for example, convergence, security, management or operational efficiency). The ability to apply differentiating functionality across the entire access layer will affect their position.”
The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking portfolio includes Unified Access and the recently introduced Intelligent Fabric technologies, both recognized as industry award winning. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Intelligent Fabric reduces operational costs and complexity for IT by 30% to 50% by enabling network auto-configuration and simplifying routine tasks related to moves, adds and changes. Intelligent Fabric has now been expanded to the access layer.
“Enterprises continue to tell Gartner during inquiries they prefer to use a a common set of security, policy enforcement and management across wired and wireless networks. In a recent Gartner enterprise access layer client survey with 114 responses, 75% of clients prefer to employ a single vendor that handles the entire access layer solution. This unification of wired/WLAN access applications reduces both capital and operational expenses.”
