150-Watt, AC/DC power supplies are 80 Plus certified

XP Power announced the GCS150 series of IT and medically approved 150-W single output AC/DC power supplies that meet the stringent internationally recognized 80 Plus Silver energy efficiency specifications. With active power factor correction (PFC), the series have a typical efficiency of 93 percent and a no load input power consumption of less than 0.5 W. The 80 Plus Silver certification applies to power supplies specified for enterprise computing and data center applications. The GCS150 is available with a +12, +15, +24, +28 or +48 VDC single output voltage, an additional 12-V fan output is also available. Using convection cooling alone the GCS150 can deliver up to 110 W. When using only 7 cfm of forced air flow, or by specifying an optional fan model, the full output power of 150 W is available. Multiple mechanical formats give the design engineer plenty of choice when incorporating into the end-application. A standard 3 x 5-inch (127 mm x 76.2 mm) open frame or enclosed cover options are available as convection cooled formats.
