The AR8033-AL1B Ethernet transceiver is a single port, 10/100/1000 Mbps tri-speed Ethernet PHY. TheAR8033-AL1B Ethernet transceiver supports both RGMII and SGMII to the MAC. The AR8033Ethernet transceiver belongs to the Arctic™ PHY family which provides a low power, low BOMcost solution for comprehensive applications including enterprise, carrier and home networks suchas CPE, home gateway, enterprise switch, carrier switch/router, mobile base station and basestation controller, optical module and media converter, industrial automation and measurement.The AR8033-AL1B Ethernet transceiver integrates Green ETHOS® power saving technologies whichsignificantly save power in both active operation and idle condition. Green ETHOS power savingschemes include ultra-low power in cable unplugged mode or port power down mode, as well asautomatically optimized power saving based on cable length.
The AR8033-AL1B Ethernet transceiversupports standard IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) and Qualcomm Atherosproprietary SmartEEE™. SmartEEE allows legacy MAC and SoC devices without IEEE 802.3azsupport to cowork with AR8033-AL1B to provide full IEEE 802.3az support. Furthermore, the AR8033Ethernet transceiver supports Wake-on-LAN (WoL) feature to manage and regulate total systempower requirements.
